About the Maps
In the 19th century, ‘Sanborn’ maps were originally prepared for the exclusive use of fire insurance companies and underwriters. The Library of Congress has digitized many for public access. Many Chattanooga maps are now available. LINK
I aligned individual map pages to create a contiguous view, and as closely as possible, match to 2018 imagery.
